About Brimfield
Brimfield real estate is located in Peoria County, Illinois. It is a small village with a population of 4,399. Brimfield is part of the Peoria, Illinois Metropolitan Statistical Area and is an area with a rich history. The original name of the village was Charleston. It is home to many including families with children, young professionals and retirees. The majority of homes in Brimfield are single-family homes as well as some upscale homes. They are mostly owner occupied and were built from 1970 to 1994. There are some older homes that were constructed between 1940 and 1969 in addition to new construction and historic homes that were built prior to 1939. Jubilee College State Park, located nearby, is an Illinois State park that contains Jubilee College State Historic Site. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. Although the historic site was closed in 2008, the state park is still open and contains a number of trails for hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding. The college was founded in 1839 by Philander Chase, an Episcopal bishop. Many area residents enjoy the state park and the trails that include 3,100 acres of open space operated by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
Residents of Brimfield real estate are served by the Dunlap CUSD 323 School District. There are 3,473 students enrolled in schools within this district. As a village within Peoria County, residents have access to many transportation venues including the General Wayne A. Downing Peoria International Airport and the Mount Hawley Auxiliary Airport located in Peoria. There are also major routes located in the county including Interstates 74, 155 and 474.
